Closure of Brackenfell revenue office for electricity upgrades

Residents are advised of the closure of the City’s Brackenfell Revenue Department offices on Saturday, 8 June 2024, due to the installation of new electricity infrastructure. Residents are encouraged to make use of the various convenient online payment options. 

The nearest alternative offices are at the Kuils River Walk-in Centre in Van Riebeeck Road and the Bellville Vehicle Registration Centre in Reed Street.

Remember: You can pay your municipal accounts (excluding motor vehicle licences) at any Shoprite/Checkers, Pick n Pay, PEP, Woolworths, USave, Ackermans, Lewis, Top It Up and selected Spar shops. Online pre-paid electricity purchases can be made at  www.powertime.co.za and payments for property rates and municipal services can be made at www.easypay.co.za  as well as via your internet banking facility: Select the City of Cape Town as a bank-listed beneficiary on your bank's website and use only your nine-digit municipal account number as reference.

You can also now settle your municipal account by using the convenient QR code on your invoice. The code is embedded with your EasyPay number and outstanding balance, so there is no need to enter payment details. You will be directed to your bank's secure payment portal to complete the transaction. The QR code allows easy access to the payment portal for an accurate, efficient and secure payment process.

Payment for the renewal of motor vehicle licences may be made online at https://eservices.capetown.gov.za/

Motorists are advised that fines and warrants can now be viewed and paid online at https://www.paythat.co.za/ – this includes fines pre-dating 1 July 2022.

•          EFT: ABSA, FNB, Nedbank, Capitec, Standard Bank

•          Scan to pay: Masterpass, Snapscan, Zapper, FNB, Nedbank, ABSA

Motorists who wish to pay their fines in person at a retailer, can pay at selected Spar shops if the fine pre-dates 1 July 2022.

Payment of traffic fines issued from 1 July 2022 can be made at selected Spar shops, as well as Ackermans, Builders Warehouse, Game, Makro, PEP, Pick n Pay and Shoprite/Checkers Money Market kiosks.
